"Thank you for giving us our daughter back"

(as a parent/guardian),

When our teenage daughter attempted suicide we felt our world collapse.

We felt heartbroken, helpless, hopeless and overwhelmed.

The CAMHS Intensive Treatment Team (CITT) service were on board immediately on discharge. The service they provide to the young person and their family is second to none.

The journey to our daughters ongoing recovery has been a rollercoaster and we could not have coped without them .

They never gave up on her or us.

They made the darkest of times bearable and we can't thank them enough for their professionalism and compassion.

Evan and James we thank you for giving us our daughter back.

Dear warmfy49

Thank you so much for taking time to share your story with us.

The beginning of this journey with your daughter must have felt very difficult given your feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. I am delighted to hear that although the journey has been a rollercoaster you now feel you "have your daughter back".

I am glad that your daughter and the family as a whole, have recovered. I will pass on your thanks to the CITT service, and specifically James and Evan. I am delighted that your family experienced professional and compassionate care from the team.

Best wishes for the future.

Mhairi Ward
