My brother passed away suddenly in ward 3E Crosshouse Hospital following several weeks of hypertension. He was admitted to Ayr CAU who quickly managed his blood pressure and arranged all the tests he needed. Unfortunately the high blood pressure had caused a great deal of damage to his heart which led to the development of a clot in his left ventricle. This was being treated in station 6 but sadly moved to his brain and became a large bleed from which he could not recover.
My brother always kept good health and had never been a patient before….he was terrified of hospitals! The warmth and fantastic care he received in Ayr CAU especially from Jackie and Ian that 1st night had an unbelievable impact…he was no longer frightened! From then on his journey from CAU to the wonderful staff in both Station 6 and the stroke unit he felt safe and amongst friends and did not stop talking. What did you do with the quiet man? Lol x Thankyou to each and everyone of you who made him feel relaxed and comfortable from all the family and thankyou for allowing us all to be in to stay with him. We will be forever grateful as I know my brother was. Also special thanks to the attentive nurse on nightshift who stayed with us at the bedside in 3E, beautiful nursing. Thankyou to the lovely ANP and Doctor at Crosshouse Hospital NHS 24 who reviewed thoroughly and brought the pressure down.
"Excellent Care and Compassion"
