"Muscle tear and then stroke recovery"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency Moffat Community Hospital / Minor Injuries Moffat Community Hospital / Rehabilitation and Reablement

(as the patient),

Tore a calf muscle in 2019 then had a stroke in June 2022, both of these were treated in Feb 2023. Yes a very long wait for the calf muscle to be treated.

Attended A&E at Dumfries at the end of May, was put in a arm cast and sent home. Had to reattend A&E as my symptoms were deteriorating and they re cast my arm. Two days later I was back at A&E and was finally diagnosed as a person having a stroke. I then spent a week or so on a ward in the end.

After several tests and scans was told I had 70% blockage in a neck artery and that a simple ish operation would not be available on the NHS (this operation just a couple of years earlier was readily available and would have been performed within a week, and that it was of course available as a private patient. The end result was that I would be managed medically until end of life.

The treatment given to me by the physiotherapist was spot on and vastly improved my quality of life and this I thank you for.

Overview: It feels to me that the medical staff are instructed by the administrative staff and I feel that both have lost their integrity. In my opinion, this same integrity appears in abundance when discussions arise concerning their own sense of worth

I now feel much better getting that off my chest and will fight off my end of life with my own sense of integrity.

I do wish you allow this to be posted for a period, however having tasted NHS integrity I have my doubts
