"My Grandmother"

About: Kilbryde Hospice / Inpatient Care

(as a carer),

My grandmother was admitted to Kilbryde Hospice in East Kilbride after a progressive illness.  It was a difficult decision to take her out of her home and move her to the hospice but a decision we made together and we have no regrets.

We were both welcomed with smiles and support and my gran settled in well.  All the staff at the hospice are wonderful and accommodating.  Dealing with my grans illness has been tough for both my gran and I and the care level for both families and patients is second to none.  They are fabulous.

Hi Telescopiummr53,

It is Donna Reilly Deputy IPU Manager responding to your lovely message.

Thank you for taking the time to write this, it is very much appreciated.

I understand it must have been a difficult decision to make for your gran and yourself, leaving her home to come to the Hospice, I am glad that your gran feels settled within the unit and both of you were greeted with welcoming smiles and feel supported from staff. Thank you for these kind words about the staff and the unit. I will offer feedback to the team and this is reassuring that we offer a excellent standard of care here at Kilbryde hospice.

Take care

Donna Reilly

Deputy IPU Manager.

Kilbryde Hospice.
