I attended ED in February 2023 with painful heel following a fall. I was directed to x-ray, where I was attended to by nurse practitioner and diagnosed with a queried achilles tendon injury and an appointment to return following day for ultra sound scan, which revealed Achilles tendon rupture and a DVT. I had plaster applied and anticoagulant given and appointment for next day at D.A.U. for investigations for D.V.T.
I just wish to say from the minute I entered Antrim Area hospital I had exemplary care from all involved, such friendly and efficient caring staff, doctors, nurses, radiographers, pharmacists and ancillary staff... As a long retired nurse and realising what is involved in these very trying times for the N.H.S. I commend and praise all involved with special thanks to Nurse Practitioner Lindsay
