"Dyspraxia and dbt"

About: Highly Specialist Services / Specialist psychotherapy services Long term neurological conditions and allied services / Neurological enablement service (NES)

(as a service user),

Coming to dbt sessions really changed my life and gave me skills to understand my emotions and manage my behaviour better. I think I would still benefit from some kind of follow up support - we talked about a monthly drop in session to support people who have completed the dbt course to continue using the skills as it is really hard to do this by yourself.

I worked for a short time with Harriet who put me forward for a dyspraxia assessment which I have finally had this week. I reached the criteria for this dcd diagnosis and now have advice for things at work and home that could support me. I just wanted to say thank you to Harriet as previously all my problems have been attributed to my mental health.
