Letter received from wife of patient from Limavady area:

Dear Dr Walsh,

We are so thankful once again for the intervention of the Acute Care at Home service for older people.  Action was taken to raise my husband's low sodium levels, and he was able to be discharged. The high level of professionalism and support in the home is outstanding.

I especially appreciated Dr Walsh's detailed explanations and Sister Maire's thoughtful kindness.  Every member of the team is a pleasure to have in our home providing excellent and very effective care.

It would be a wonderful benefit for the elderly in the community if more nurses could be employed and thereby this wonderful service's capacity expanded and the pressure on NHS beds reduced.

Please pass on our family's gratitude for all the care and help we received.

I am very glad that your husband received good care from ACAH Team.

I hope that services like ours continue to grow and expand in the community

so that people such as your husband receive care in environment which best and with the people who can best support them.
