Towards the end of January I took a kidney infection, it was that bad I ended up in Craigavon Hospital. I was then sent home with acute care services. Really I wasn’t sure about it as I had never heard about it. Well, what a service - morning and evening I had a nurse come out to the house.
I received the utmost care from these fantastic nurses - bloods taken, and if I needed meds they were out that evening. I had to get an IV at nighttime along with other checks and all was done with respect and care for me at all times. I also had a lovely doctor call out with me and she explained everything that I needed to know and answer my questions very clearly.
I can’t thank the nurses and doctors of this service enough. It is second to none. They're absolutely unbelievable, giving you the care you needed from a hospital but at home. I think this is one great service and it should be funded well from the government to allow more nurses to join this service and maybe it would ease a bit of pressure of the hospitals here in Northern Ireland.
So just again I want to thank each and every nurse who called with me and give me the treatment care respect and confidentiality that I had to get. My family and I are so thankful to you all. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
