"Failure to provide physio follow up after surgery"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Therapies North Devon District Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

After having a video call,  post Total knee replacement. Told I'd recieve a face to face follow up within 2 weeks. I waited the 2 weeks, before I contacted the physio dept, to be told that no appointment had been sanctioned, although told that I needed follow up?

How did this make me feel? Very upset & discarded by physio dept. As I very much had hoped for support, assessment & treatment. I feel this has delayed my recovery & compromised  my care package.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback regarding your total knee replacement and the lack of timely physiotherapy. I am sorry to hear that you felt very upset and discarded by the physio department, this is not what we would have wished for.

In order to investigate this further, please would you take the time to contact me directly so that I can ensure this does not happen to any other patients in a similar situation. I can also check that we have looked into your individual situation and that we have resolved it for you.
