"The side-room is kind of lonely"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Trauma Ward

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Tramua has been good so far -  I am just very excited to get out. The only issue I have is I am in a side-room and at times just feel a bit lonely.  I wish I was in a bay which is what I told the staff. They are trying to sort something but bed pressures mean that it can't be facilitated at  the moment.

The staff are excellent though all very kind and I really wouldn't be feeling as well if they weren't there

Hi,

My name is Rachel and I am the Ward Sister on the Trauma Ward. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am very pleased to hear that the staff have been excellent and very kind towards yourself. It is so important to myself and the staff to know that our patients are satisfied with their care.

I am sorry to hear that you feel lonely in the side room. I appreciate being in hospital can be a dauting experience and unfortunately due to infection reasons and bed pressures some patients may need to be in a side room. As far as possible, taking these pressures into consideration we try to facilitate patients in an area they are most happy.

I wish you well and a speedy recovery.

Best wishes,

Rachel
