My GP at Kirkhall Practice Prestwick swiftly identified the problem on first presentation and referred me to the Respiratory Consultants at Crosshouse, whereupon I have received a diagnosis for Interstitial Lung Disease.
The service and treatment I have received has been first class involving the team of disciplines from the very accessible GP services, specialist respiratory consultancy, hospital pharmacist and physiotherapy.
Being referred to Jenny at Respiratory Physio for Pulmonary Rehabilitation I did not know what to expect.
That practical and emotional face-to face physio support and learning how to cope with reduced lung function has been extremely helpful, particularly the knowledge that one’s own efforts in terms of exercise and mind-set can really help in living with a lung condition.
Very happy to share this on the forum and hope it is helpful to others, especially so given the demand on Respiratory services in the middle of the Covid pandemic.
