"ultrasound & transvaginal scan - at the dentist"

About: Yorkshire Health Solutions Ltd

I had an NHS appointment for an ultrasound & transvaginal scan carried out by Yorkshire Health Solutions. This took place at a small dental practice in West Yorkshire. The ultrasound patients & the dental patients had the same small waiting area which consisted of about 7 or 8 chairs & quickly filled up. There was 1 toilet which was not great given that for some of the ultrasounds you have to attend with a full bladder & to get to it you have to walk through the small waiting area. Also, whilst in the waiting room you could hear conversations in the ultrasound rooms - this is deeply concerning to me given the intimate nature of the scans I had & the conversations had.

The nurses were pleasant but not exactly welcoming & friendly or reassuring - it was all very matter of fact, no introductions, no small talk. The room was quite small & when it came to undressing/redressing there wasn't much privacy or dignity. I was not given anything to wipe the lubricant off after the internal scan. It seemed much quicker than previous internals. No information was given which isn't helpful when you are sick with worry.

I was referred by my GP & was contacted by Yorkshire Health Service to arrange an appointment which was booked for 4 days later- this part of the process was very smooth. The location really wasn't great & I will request an alternative if I need to repeat the scans in the future.
