"Tried to arrange an appointment"

About: General practices in Forth Valley

(as the patient),

Today I called the surgery to enquire about a prescription. The receptionist answered the call, found the information, relayed that I need a patient review on my medication.

Tried to arrange an appointment to be told that there are none available this month, no availability to book in advance as the diary isn’t available for March and to call every day to get an appointment.

How is this process practical for people who or like myself work away from home and need to book in advance to arrange appointments around work.

Is this the way forwards for the GP surgery or am I being unreasonable? The NHS is struggling I understand but to be told to call back every morning to get an appointment I find ridiculous.

Good Afternoon Wilson23

Thank you for taking the time to write to us and share your experience with your GP Practice.

It is always difficult to read when we do not meet our patient's expectations and the difficulties you are experiencing in arranging an appointment with your practice. To help us provide you with support and gather further information about your GP practice, I would be grateful if you could contact me on either 01324 566162 or caroline.logan@nhs,scot.

I hope this is helpful and look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards

Caroline
