"Swift action from GP"

About: Brant Road Surgery Lincoln County Hospital / Medical emergency assessment unit (MEAU)

(as the patient),

Had a weeping infected cyst on my back went online to ask my GP, stating the problem. My surgery rang me with an appointment. When the doctor saw the problem she was on the phone straight away to the hospital when she came off the phone she said go to the Emergency Assessment Unit (SEAU) ward at the hospital and said they were expecting me.

I had an assessment within a few minutes and then they had a bed I was put on an intravenous antibiotic drip straight away operated on next day and allowed home that evening with aftercare in place with nurses at GP clinic

Dear Dfidz

Thank you for taking the time to feed back the experience you have had within our care on SEAU, it has been really positive to share your experience with my team. It is also positive to read that in this current climate of pressures within our NHS service, the care you received has been successful and in a timely manner that ensured you were home to recover as quickly as possible.

Thank you again and I hope you continue with a speedy recovery.

Adele Bogg
