I was admitted to Ward 209 after being transferred from Dr Grays Hospital A&E/CDU teams on the 31st January 2023 due to a Kidney Blockage caused my a large kidney stone which required a stent. The teams of Doctors, Nurses, AHPs, Consultants (basically everyone) were amazing and I experienced the NHS at its finest. Special thanks to Donna, Dana and Dr Naz at Dr Grays Hospital and All the staff in ward 209 ARI, especially Nurses Tanya and Ashleigh who kept me smiling, Anna (I hope I got your name right, you were the consultant who saw me when I first came in to 209 and put me at ease) and my consultant who placed my stent! All incredible! Thank you.
When later attending my out patient lithotripsy appointment in Feb I was incredibly nervous, however your Lithotripsy team are amazing and made me feel completely at ease. Happy, reassuring, helpful, understanding and fun (Not a word you often use in hospital).
Jillian, Jackie, Steph & Lisa are a credit to NHSG! Even at the worst of my pain they kept me upbeat played my favourite songs, made me laugh and even held my hand until the large stone was “blasted” to dust. The care provided before, during and after my treatment was nothing short of 5* and I can’t thank them enough for looking after me :) THANK YOU!
