"A calm, efficient and professional service"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Scottish Ambulance Service

(as the patient),

I have ataxia and had a fall at home

My wife phoned NHS24 for advice. After speaking to a nurse, an ambulance was requested. The ambulance came within about twenty minutes and the two paramedics were very calm and professional

On arriving at A&E at the GRI, we were the only ambulance in the bay. Was transferred in very quickly and placed in the queue (although there were only two people in front of me).

Was assessed quite quickly and then waited to see a doctor. Examination was very thorough. I was given a CT scan and then transferred to a ward at 03.29.

Had an MRI scan later in the day, which was thankfully clear and was discharged later the same day

After all the press coverage of the crisis in the NHS, my experience was of a calm, efficient and professional service

Dear marchex45

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback on Care Opinion.

I was sorry to hear you had to attend hospital after you fell at home. This must have been a very worrying time for you.

I was however delighted to hear you were assessed quickly and thoroughly by the staff within the A&E Department and sent for scans which thankfully came back clear.

I will be sure to pass on your thanks to the staff who I'm sure will be touched to hear you had such a positive experience.

I hope your feeling a lot better and recovering well.

Kind regards and a massive thanks from the staff within the A&E Department.

Kevin
