I have ataxia and had a fall at home
My wife phoned NHS24 for advice. After speaking to a nurse, an ambulance was requested. The ambulance came within about twenty minutes and the two paramedics were very calm and professional
On arriving at A&E at the GRI, we were the only ambulance in the bay. Was transferred in very quickly and placed in the queue (although there were only two people in front of me).
Was assessed quite quickly and then waited to see a doctor. Examination was very thorough. I was given a CT scan and then transferred to a ward at 03.29.
Had an MRI scan later in the day, which was thankfully clear and was discharged later the same day
After all the press coverage of the crisis in the NHS, my experience was of a calm, efficient and professional service
"A calm, efficient and professional service"
