"New triage system wasting time and resources "

About: Bideford Medical Centre

I had phoned 111 who said I needed a face to face appointment, the new triage system did not allow this, despite being told and so instead I had a phone call. I was given treatment and told there was nothing else the surgery could do if the treatment did not work and I would have to go to a&e. I was very reluctant to do so but as I had been told this was the only option a couple of days later, when the treatment was not working I did. A&e were fantastic and within minutes had diagnosed and given treatment. Turns out I had a skin infection which if I had been seen rather than a phone call would have been found easily before. Such a waste of precious a&e time due to a reluctance from the surgery to follow advice from 111.
