"Outstanding Care"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / General Surgery (Wards 16-18)

(as a service user),

After an excruciating time in A&E with a gallstone stuck in my common bile duct I was admitted to ward 18 room 6 to prepare for an ERCP.

No visit to hospital is ever going to be pleasant and as this was my first I was acutely aware that I was feeling anxious about it all.

Whilst all the staff from start to finish where fantastic I would particularly like to mention Arlene, Fiona, Apollo, Lewis and Jannah. Without whom my stay wouldn't have been anywhere near as manageable as it was. The care shown by the above mentioned was nothing short of incredible. Truly great people and a credit to the NHS.

Dear Darren23,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us about recent experience at general surgery at University Hospital, Wishaw. I am sorry to hear of your gallstone and the pain it caused you. This must have been a worrying time for you.

I am delighted you experienced the extraordinary care our friendly teams aim to deliver every day. Your feedback will give the team a much needed boost and I will be sure to feed this back to Arlene, Fiona, Apollo, Lewis and Jannah.

I hope you are recovering well from the ERCP procedure.

Kind regards,

Jenni
