"Caring and friendly staff"

About: General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency Royal Alexandra Hospital / Medical Assessment Unit (MAU)

(as a relative),

My dad was sent to minor injuries via his GP at the Oaks Medical centre due to the physio picking up that he might have had a DVT. As expected the ED dept was very busy.

Michelle the triage nurse was caring & explained everything clearly.

He was sent to MAU due to the time of day & ambulatory care the following day. ANPs Angela & Alistair were fantastic. He was dealt with promptly. Explanations were pitched at the right level. He was updated throughout his patient journey. Blood results came back speedily allowing him to go home to return to radiology the next day for confirmation of DVT.

Well done to all of the staff having a smile & being caring & friendly under the current working conditions. Your excellent communication skills as well as your knowledge was hugely appreciated by my dad & all of the family.

Dear Nikki23

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and the positive feedback to the team involved. I am proud to pass this onto Michelle in our Emergency Department and will ensure my Lead Nurse colleague for Acute Medical Unit and Ambulatory Care shares with Angela and Alistair.

Such kind words go a long way - thank you.

Best wishes to you Dad on a swift recovery.

Gerry
