"Friendly and helpful staff"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency Victoria Hospital / Cardiology

(as a relative),

My grandad was brought into Resus by ambulance at the start of January as he was having a heart attack. The paramedics were fantastic with my grandad who has dementia and can be a bit of a handful at times.  They were very understanding and kept my grandad calm.  The staff in Resus were also very professional, very efficient and kept me informed as to what was going on.

He was then taken to CCU ward 21 where we stayed for a couple of days. The staff were brilliant. So friendly and helpful. I would like to say a special mention to Emma, Aleem and Ellie who really stood out to me over the few days that he was in ward 21.

After a few days he was moved to ward 23, the staff here were also very helpful. As a staff member myself, I was proud to say I worked alongside these people. Thank you so much to all the staff who looked after my grandad. From my whole family, we really appreciate all your efforts.

Dear Lisapro89

Thank you so much for getting in touch with your Feedback. I am so sorry to read your grandad had to make use of our services as well as those of the wider NHS, I can understand how worrying this must have been for you all, especially your poor gandad. I hope he has made good recovery and feeling better?

If you would like me to pass on your kind words to the ambulance crew who attended, I can certainly arrange that for you. What I would need is for you to contact our team at sas.feedback@nhs.scot with your grandad's name, address and date of when we attended and I will certainly pass that on.

Thank you once again and best wishes to you and your grandad

Lesley
