I was brought in by ambulance after my GP told me I needed to go to hospital. I have has all sorts of tests done whilst on Female Medical. It turns out I had clots in both my lungs and so I have been getting my blood thinned. All the nurses have been more than helpful - they really do go the extra mile to help you. Nurse Sharon in particular was brilliant. The ward sister was also great - she made taking blood look so easy. However everyone has been brilliant and it is difficult to pick one out from the other. The staff are always there with a smile and a, are you alright.
The doctor always takes the time to speak to you - the ward really does have a family atmosphere and the staff are always there to lift your heart when you are down in the dumps without giving you false information. The consultant who has been looking after me has been absolutely brilliant - he has been an absolute gentleman. He is always straight with you about what is going on and really does instil you with confidence.
The food has all been good - however I have to say the spicy beef blew the ears off me. Whoever makes the vegetable soup is amazing as it has been absolutely first class - it is nicer than soup you would get at a wedding or a five star hotel. Everything on the ward has been absolutely first class - Everything on the ward has been absolutely spotless.
The only suggestion I could make would be in regards to the toilet. The toilet down the corridor has no handrail in it. With my hip problem it can be quite difficult to get up, especially since the toilet is quite low. A handrail would just make it a lot easier and also reduce the risk of falling. Other than this everything has been perfect.
