After suffering from lower stomach problems I was referred by my GP to Castle Hill for a colonoscopy. The administration department contacted me by phone to tell me they had received my referral and that someone would contact me from the appointments dept. The next day I was contacted as promised and advised that I would be seen within 2 - 3 weeks.
Fortunately for me I got a call saying that there had been a cancellation. I accepted the appointment and was told that I would recieve details of the appointment along with some medication that was needed for the proceedure. The very next day the items were recieved. Two days later I attended at Castle Hill and at the reception was seen by a pleasant, cheery receptionist who booked me in. After a short wait I was called by a nurse who took me into the ward. This lady was very personable and explained the proceedure to me. After completing the pre proceedure checks I was introduced to Dr Babu who also explained to me what the proceedure entailed and asked me if I had any questions. The questions I had were answered and my fears were allayed. I then had my colonoscopy led by Dr Babu. All the time during the proceedure Dr Babu and the two theatre nurses were very reassuring and explained exactly what was happening.
After the proceedure Dr Babu explained to me the results. I was then taken to a recovery ward prior to being discharged. The standard of care I recieved from start to finish was excellent. I would like to thank Dr Babu and his staff for their expertise and care. I could not have been looked after any better..
"Excellent care from start to finish"
