My mother was diagnosed with Fronto Temporal Dementia - Primary progressive aphasia (PPA) in July 2022. This is a rare form of dementia affecting mum's ability to communicate, both retrieving words and understanding language.
Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) Stirling and in particular Kirsty has provided absolutely superb care. She visits mum regularly and treats her with care and dignity. She discusses treatment options and possible side effects with mum and I before proceeding and we feel listened to!
Kirsty goes above and beyond ensuring that mum gets access to all NHS services including her doctor but also specialised areas such as Speech Therapy and Occupational Health which enables her to live the best life possible with dementia.
I would be unable to cope as mum's live-in carer without her support and encouragement.
Kirsty is the NHS at its best!
"Superb dementia care by our Community Psychiatric Nurse"
