"Difficult to get an appointment"

About: Adult Health Services / Sexual Health

(as a service user),

I tried to contact Lanarkshire Sexual Health services for 3 days before finally getting through. When I did get through, I was held in a call queue for 40 mins and when I reached the front, I was cut off but eventually I managed to speak to someone. 

I was able to make an appointment, however, I was given an appointment in a location that isn't accessible as someone who doesn't drive so I will need to cancel this appointment. 

Some clinics did close during Covid, but I feel it shouldn't be so difficult to get an appointment and then access an essential service-I think access to sexual health services should be a priority.

Thank you so much for contacting us via Care Opinion, I am sorry to hear that your experience with our Sexual Health service has not been as we would have liked it to be.

I apologise for the issues you seemed to have had with our phone system, I will contact the Telecoms department to ensure there are no technical issues we have been unaware of.

Regarding your appointment, we do offer appointments in various locations throughout Lanarkshire and would be happy to discuss offering you an alternative venue. If you would like to get in touch then I am sure we can resolve this for you.
