(as the patient),

I went to the sexual health clinic at Galashiels Health Centre to get my mirena coil fitted this morning.  Michelle and Lorna could not have done more to try and make me feel relaxed during a very sensitive and uncomfortable procedure.  Michelle, as the main nurse clearly explained what to expect, including all the risks

 She sought to check I understood and ascertain whether I had questions at various points during the appointment.
She was warm, reassuring and kind and very respectful of my dignity.
The procedure was quite long and uncomfortable and she checked in with me regularly. 
Lorna was the second nurse who came in just for the procedure.  She was a very calming and reassuring presence when things got painful, and her smiley eyes and chat were a welcome distraction.
I am so grateful to both of them for the care they provided to me this morning and hope I am lucky enough to have them for my next replacement in 2028!

Thank you for sharing your lovely feedback on your experience of visiting the Borders Sexual Health Service. I am so pleased to hear that Michelle and Lorna were so warm, calm and reassuring during your appointment. I can understand how daunting this would be so having great staff there to support you during a sensitive and uncomfortable procedure is very important.

I will share your feedback directly with Michelle and Lorna who I am sure will be delighted to read this.

I wish you well for your next replacement in 2028 when I am sure you will receive the same experience.
