"Walking through a corridor in my gown"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I got changed in one room and had to walk in my gown across a corridor where others were using it as a walk through and workmen also there.

I felt embarrassed as this is a woman's clinic.

Other than that the staff were lovely and caring

Thank you avocetbq49 for taking the time for this response. I am really sorry that you were put in this embarrassing situation and completely understand your comments.

We are currently changing the layout here in gynaecology outpatients so the recovery room will be accessed via a adjoining door so patients will not have to cross a corridor. Also the corridor will be closed off, meaning only staff required in clinics will be able to access the corridor to prevent a thoroughfare. Although in this instance the builders are required within the corridor.

Again we are really sorry you had this poor experience. We are working towards a better solution for our patients.

Kind Regards

Sarah
