"Expert care of my wife and children after a car crash"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Paediatrics Major Trauma team

(as a parent/guardian),

My wife and two children were involved in a car crash in mid December. Life as you know it comes to an immediate halt.

My family were admitted to the Queen Elizabeth University hospital.

The children were so incredibly well looked after from the minute they entered the Royal Hospital for Children, anything they needed was dealt with in a swift and professional manner the entire time they were there.

The ward nurses of 3C went above and beyond to make sure the boys got everything they needed to begin their recovery. All the medical team from nurses to surgeons took such good care of us the entire time we were there. They are a credit to their profession.

Also a special thank you has to go to the major trauma liaison team that not only looked after my family but also took the time to make sure that I was ok and helped me to get or sort anything I needed right throughout the time spent in the hospital.

Thank you all for your help and expertise.

Dear 1,2 miss a few 10

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback on Care Opinion.

I was so sorry to hear your wife and children were involved in a car crash. I can only begin to imagine how worried you and your family must have been throughout this ordeal.

It was however wonderful to hear of the fantastic care and treatment your family received while in hospital most notably from the ward nurses in Ward 3C of the Royal Hospital for Children.

I was also glad to hear how the Major Trauma Liaison team were able to help with any issues you or your family may have had. This must have been a great comfort.

I have passed on your thanks to the staff involved who have asked me to thank you for such kind words. The team are very appreciative of your comments.

I hope your family are all recovering well back at home.

Kind regards

Kevin

Dear 1,2 miss a few 10,

I was so sorry to hear about your family's car accident in December, I can only imagine how traumatic a time this must have been for you all, as you say, "life came to an immediate halt." It was then lovely to read that our teams were able to give you and your boys the care and attention they required going "above and beyond" to make sure you were all supported and looked after giving you all the care required on the road to their recovery.

I will make sure your thanks and appreciation to the teams is shared and also the trauma team are aware of your thanks to them in giving you the support needed whilst your boys were in hospital, as all the teams will be delighted you having taken the time to give feedback. Thank you again from myself and on behalf of the teams in our appreciation to your post on Care Opinion.

Kind Regards

Mandy
