"Can't fault the Doctors but..."

About: Bodmin Road Health Centre

Ive been a patient here for approx 8 years along with my daughter and husband.

I cannot fault any of the Doctors or Nursing staff at all. We a can always get an appointment and the My GP app works very well for us.

The reception area is not accessible to all. The desk is ridiculously high and the lowered section (meant for wheelchair users and alike) is blocked off with leaflets and equipment.

I am 5 foot 2 and have limited hearing in both ears so often need to see people's mouths when they talk, its virtually impossible here given the height of the desk. The times I have moved to the lowered section to improve my view of the receptionist they barely even turn their heads.

I dread having to go into the practice - it often turns into an embarrasing situation for a grown adult having to stand on tip toes to see and constantly having to say, Im afraid i cant hear or see what you are saying.

The reception staff really let this practice down, they really need to improve their customer service skills.

The practice manager would do well to consult a disabled access specialist or read Bs8300.
