I had been experiencing worrying symptoms with my bowel and was brought in for a full colonoscopy. Upon inspection there was a polyp they wanted to examine and biopsy, which made me extremely worried and panicked, to the point where I couldn't think straight.
The nurse (Ben) in charge of my wellbeing was being so supportive and kind during the whole time, and even afterwards the nurse who performed the procedure knew how upset I was. I believe her name was Sandra, and she went above and beyond to comfort me, down to giving me a direct number to call if I needed to talk about anything. In addition, she called me as soon as the biopsy results were back to let me know they were negative, which really gave me so much relief.
I then had the sigmoidoscopy to remove the polyp, and again everyone was so nice and helpful. It's obviously an uncomfortable procedure, but everyone made me feel at ease, down to getting me a sandwich and coffee afterwards and keeping my wife informed.
I want to say a massive thank you to all staff that were working the days of my 2 procedures, as they made a really stressful and upsetting time a lot easier for me.
