"Great encouragement and advice"

About: Oncology / Physical Activity Classes

(as the patient),

Have just completed a 12 week course of physical activity via MS teams with Joe as coach. This was beneficial in several ways: it improved movement and strength in the arm where I'd had mastectomy and lymph nodes removed, and aided circulation and all over muscle movement.

Having a class to look forward to and organise around has important mental benefits- it keeps you in a routine and means you are up and at it, even in the middle of chemo!

Joe's classes are carefully supervised- he always makes sure he can see you on his screen and offers regular encouragement and advice as you go along. Now at the end of my sessions he has provided resources so I can continue at home and referrals to access further resources when I finish my chemo.

I'd like to say thank you to Joe, to Friends of the Cancer Centre and the City hospital for providing this important resource and motivation.

Dear cubene78,

Thank you for taking the time to post such a lovely review of Joes classes. I am delighted that you found them to be of benefit both physically and mentally.

I will pass on your kind words to Joe and the rest of the Physiotherapy team here in the Cancer Centre,

Best wishes,

Bernie
