"Heart problems"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

In 2019 I was suffering from chest pains and shortness of breath.

Between 2019 and October 2022 I had dozens of tests and scans, however it wasn't until October 2022 I finally found out what was wrong with me. I was diagnosed with significant narrowing of 2 arteries to my heart.

At the start of December I had my pre-op assessment and was due to have surgery later on in the month.  However this has now been cancelled and I will have to wait until the New Year for another appointment.

Hopefully my condition won't get worse while I wait.

Dear Azzabee,

I am so sorry to hear about your difficult time and I hope that you continue on your journey and are well enough to have your surgery soon.

Kindest regards,

Lisa Pim

Update posted by Azzabee (the patient)

Dear Lisa,

I'm well enough to have the surgery, it was the hospital that cancelled my operation, 10 days before it was due and I will have to wait another month or more to get another date.

I'd understand if it was cancelled because of emergencies, but no reason was given except they weren't doing any elected surgery until after the new year and they'd be in touch.

Considering my condition is supposed to be fairly serious I'd have thought it better to have the surgery before something serious happens and like my friend, have to wait nearly 2 hours for an ambulance when he had a stroke.

Old saying, but true, "a stitch in time ......".
