"The care given was second to none"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

My young daughter was displaying some worrying symptoms regarding Strep A. However, without knowing for sure we monitored her at home, until 111 recommend us take her to A&E as her state was deteriorating.

We visited Doncaster Royal Infirmary and it was the best experience we’ve ever had in an emergency department. From triage to treatment it took 3 hours which was highly efficient and I cannot comment the staff enough, from the reception staff to the GP’s the care given was second to none.

They confirmed she had Strep A and she was prescribed some medication and we was sent home, thankfully. After visiting another A&E the previous evening and having to self discharge due to 10+ wait time, Doncaster saved the day and I could never thank them enough.

Thank you for sharing with us your feedback about Doncaster Royal Infirmary. I am so pleased to hear that, despite this being a scary time for both yourself and your daughter, our teams went above and beyond with the care they delivered.

I will pass on your wonderful feedback to the areas involved and I am sure they will be moved to hear the impact they had.

Best wishes,

Libby
