"Speedy care from the NHS"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Hairmyres / Acute Stroke Unit (Ward 6) University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I suffered a stroke a week ago and within 25 minutes from my son phoning for an ambulance one arrived and within a short while of checking me over I was taken to Hairmyers hospital. A E delt with me very speedily directly I arrived taken to get a CT scan and was then taken upstairs where I was thrombolysed and later taken to the ward where I was duely monitored throughout the night. I cannot thank all the staff from the ambulance crew through AE to the ward enough for their speedy response which was directly responsible for the fortunate outcome I have. In times of much criticism I am happy to say that my experience is one of excellence and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and was so thankful to be able to walk out of the ward the next day and return home.

Dear Jennifer Cyclist,

Many thanks for taking the time to post your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to hear that you have recently suffered a Stroke and I hope that your recovery continues to be a positive one.

I would also like to say thank you for your kind words about our staff and the staff of the wider NHS in Scotland. It has been, and continues to be a very challenging time and it means a great deal to our staff when they receive such positive feedback. I would be more than happy to try and locate the crew and pass on you thanks whilst also providing an update on your recovery. In order to do this we would need a few more details, mainly your name, the date and time that we attended you and most importantly the location of where we attended you. If furnished with this information we can locate the call and the crew. If you wish for this to happen could I ask that you email sas.feedback@nhs.scot and the team will ensure this happens. If you would also be so kind as to quote your CareOpinion username then the other team members will be easily able to link your email to this story.

Thanks again and I hope you have a wonderful christmas and a very happy new year.

Kind Regards

Alan
