"A&E admission"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency East Surrey Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I was in excruciating pain and vomiting before and during A&E. I came to the hospital and I waited about 1.5-2 hours before being triaged.

I then waited a bit more and was seen by Dr Estha in A&E minors. She was very polite, friendly and warming and I felt safe as soon as she started to look after me. I was sent for CT and results came back clear. She was about to send me home as the bed managers were on her case for an update on me.

Dr Estha asked if I felt ok to be discharged but I was still in a lot of pain. She did another thorough examination and ordered new tests etc on these tests a large 10cm mass was found in my pelvis.

I was then seen by nurse Chris in minors, he was also so friendly and attentive. I got upset and he comforted me and got me a cup of tea. All very much appreciated and needed.

I then got admitted to Brockham ward, which is where I am writing this. I was very very impressed by Dr Estha and nurse Chris and other staff and porters and nurses on admitting ward.

I am working for the NHS  and understand the staffing issues and strains that they are under at the moment. I can truly say that they went out of their way to look after me well.
