I had to be admitted for an orthopaedic procedure which had been delayed because of COVID. 

I had a good understanding of the procedure and what to expect but I've never had a general anaesthetic before so was feeling extremely apprehensive.

I was met by reception staff who were welcoming and friendly, which immediately was reassuring. All of the nursing and medical staff introduced themselves, explained everything they were going to do and I was given lots of opportunity to ask questions.

The overall calmness, friendly demeanor and professionalism of all of the staff, including students, was extremely reassuring and made the whole experience much less frightening for me.

I am extremely grateful for this and for their care and consideration.
