Anything else?
I was admitted to ward 5 for an elective procedure last week. My experience on the ward was very good. The anaesthetist was amazing, and the surgeon very good. However, due to the lateness of the surgery, it was decided that I needed to stay overnight. But no one told me, until a porter came to transfer me to ward 25. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I really would have liked to prepare myself for an overnight stay. However, I was thoroughly re-assurred by the very professional staff on ward 25. Although I didn't really belong there, they were fantastic. Particularly two members of staff, when I had a setback. They dealt with it calmly and effectively, even though I was quite upset. These ladies are a real credit to their profession. My only niggle with both these wards was the lack of spray/disinfectant to use on the toilet seats - particularly important on ward 5, where some patients will need bowel prep before their procedure. Apart from that, my stay was good, and I was treated extemely well.
