My partner visited a and e department due to a broken thumb and laceration in a building accident. The doctors said thumb was fine and not broken. get a call a week later saying actually we got it wrong it is broken afterall. waited 4 hours in extreme pain and bleeding.

I am really sorry for your experience - it would be difficult for me to answer without some more details....if your partner contacts me via: patient.involvement@ulh.nhs.uk with some personal details I can have your concerns investigated. Sometimes fractures do not show up immediately on x-rays for a variety of reasons - but equally the fracture could have been missed - it is important that we know.
