"Where patients attend ER with ..."

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

(as a relative),

What could be improved

Where patients attend ER with obvious injuries which are confirmed by X-ray, allow the A&E doctors to refer for MRI scans.

This would reduce the need to wait 3 weeks for an appointment at the Fractures clinic only to have further confirmation that a MRI scan is needed, wait another 4 weeks for the scan and a further 3 weeks for the scan result before a consultant can make a treatment recommendation.

Employ sufficient trained staff to answer telephones to enable appointments to be booked.

Employ more A&E staff to reduce the lengthy waiting times.
