"There seemed to be little communication ..."

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

(as a relative),

What I liked

There seemed to be little communication bewteen the staff or to the patients. This made some patients and families in the childrens A&E dept upset. Two of the doctors did not listen to our concerns about my son's injury, the third doctor on another day confirmed our thoughts and treated my son correctly. My son's notes were lost for a short while. I even heard some staff speaking about their problems with the hospital quite openly. Wouldn't go there again given the choice. Only things it had going for it was it is new and clean, and the actual nurses were on the whole lovely in the childrens dept.

What could be improved

There should be more communication topp patients and families especially in the childrens department. We would like to know if we are likely to wait a long time. We don't like to keep asking as it we are made to feel like nuisances. Doctors should be more understanding when children are histerical and scared and in pain. Doctors should listen to parents more, and not make parents feel like a nuisance when the voice their obvious concerns about the treatment (or lack of it).
