What could be improved

Ringing king georges outpatients appointments for my mother (who is 85 with short term memory loss) I was kept hanging on for almost an hour. Needless to say if this had been my mother calling she would have forgotten who and why she was calling. I understand that this is a busy department but I think that this is unacceptable even for the NHS. Both working and caring for my mother, time is at a premium for patients carers as well.
