"Good care from children's department"

About: Leeds General Infirmary / Accident and emergency Leeds General Infirmary / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

Unexplained knee injury that left my 10 yr old son unable to walk.

After 3 days I took him to A&E children's dept on a Sunday morning in January 2013. Seen quickly by nurse then medic. Sent for bloods and xray but no cause found. Given painkillers and crutches and for review with consultant next day.

Reviewed following day in clinic. Again punctual. Very kind medic. Sent for more xrays and MRI arranged for following week. Still no explanations and getting very worried. Further review the following week booked.

Fortunately after a week's rest on crutches, he was able to start weight bearing and the pain disappeared. The care was fantastic, never know what caused it and hope it doesn't reoccur.

But the team in the children's dept were great. Thank you.
