As a chronic asthmatic i am used on occasions being admitted as an emergency to hospital. I have experienced many levels of concern and care. This was my first visit to Calderdale Royal and i was extremely impressed. I was treat promptly in A & E and admitted to hospital quickly with minimum fuss. The staff were caring and considerate (at all levels) and the ward clean and bright. I was very impressed when discharged as the staff offered me transport (never happened before EVER) and although not required was appreciated. They also checked somebody was at home for me and explained my discharge summary in detail. I am extremely impressed and would like to thank all staff on wards 2B.
