Anything else?
After a wonderful water birth with my first child I chose St Mary's so that I was guaranteed a birthing pool (or more guaranteed than in hospital anyway). Had such great support during labour from clearly very experienced staff. Unlike my hospital labour they didn't rush the detachment of my placenta and let me feed my baby and let it happen completely naturally. On the ward, after unsuccessful breast feeding with my first baby, they did an amazing job supporting me with this and building my confidence so that after my 2 night stay I'd not only had fantastic quality time to bond with my daughter but I also felt confident that I could feed her. While there another lady came in after her hospital labour to get feeding support - due to lack of staff she said nobody had time to help her in hospital. I absolutely understand that st Mary's is a very expensive facility to run and must result in a lot of down time when staff don't have as much to do.
"Fantastic care!"
