"Terrible treatment by stuck up consultants"

I am 26 years old, I am a very active person and I arrived to a&e after obtaining a back injury and having numbness in my legs. I was sent home and told nothing was wrong. Within 24 hours I had lost all feeling in my leg, an become incontinant. I came back a day later to be admitted to ward 33. Nursing staff on this ward are outstanding. But the treatment received from doctors and consultants is disgusting. From being in alot of pain and being unable to take oral medication I was told point blank I couldn't have anything. By a stuck up doctor who a few days later made me feel like I was some one looking to score drugs. Every person who spoke to me contradicted everything else that others were saying. No one knew what care I was going up recieve and when. I was informed I had a UTI from having a catheter and was given no treatment so was left in a lot of pain from that. One doctor said my back problem was because I was fat! I'm 5ft 10inch and weigh 15 stone! Although trying to explain previous medical conditions to doctors which would effect the care they were trying to give me they ignored this and made me very ill which they were warned about by myself. The doctor in question has no bedside manner. i was made to feel ashamed by them for bypassing my catheter and wetting the bed. I am currently studying to become a midwife myself but I got treated like some drug addict that stumbled in off the street. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone and as I am still a patient at present I am going to be requesting a transfer to a half decent hospital where you might get treated better than the dirt on the bottom of your shoe!
