"my addaction key worker keeps changing."

About: Addaction Boston

(as the patient),

I am a addaction patient in the skegness area and my key worker changes regular in the last 6 months I have had 3 different workers, and I do not agree with it as some people like myself find it hard to open up to people, and as I have just been able to open up and talk to someone my worker has changed. And I do not think that this is helping me with my drug recovery as I am not able to talk to people I do not know, I also do not think that it is fair on myself and others that struggle to open up and talk to people.

We are really sorry to hear that you feel your treatment is being adversely affected by your change of keyworker. Unfortunately, as with any organisation, our staff will relocate from time to time. Please be assured that our workers keeping accurate records of their client's treatment and recovery journey so that there is continuity of care, in the eventuality of a change of keyworker. We fully appreciate that it can be difficult to open up to someone new but their professionalism should ease this process for you. We would encourage you to discuss your thoughts with your new worker to avoid excessive repetition of the information you have already given. You will be aware however, that your Recovery Plan will be reviewed at each session but please be assured that this is to enable you to set goals and chart your progress. We wish you well in your recovery and hope you soon feel more settled. Thank you for your feedback.
