"Update to my previous story: Husband finally has surgery"

About: Peterborough City Hospital / Urology

(as a relative),

here is an update to my previous story.

My husband finally had his surgery last Friday all went reasonably well, but on arrival they had him registered to a medical practice we had never heard of. This prompted us to ask have you got the right patient.?

Information previously given was also incorrect no milk in tea or coffee or butter on toast for his breakfast as it was pm surgery this was not the case also that I would not be able to stay with him prior to his surgery again not the case.

On the plus side however the staff were very understanding and caring. He was to be taken to a ward after surgery as he was later back than expected our son enquired with the nurses what was happening they commented that they would not ring as they were busy down there some time later another nurse said we had been there some time she would ring, such a little thing to put minds at rest.

The only other negative was that due to a problem my husband has there could be urinary tract problems after anaesthesia this was never mentioned and as this was the case I feel that we should have been pre warned that this was a possible complication. This has still left me with very little confidence in this hospital.
