"Ward 18: Staff are faultless"

About: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

Ward 18 staff are faultless, although training MCA's to do basics such as ob's would ease the pressure on the midwives.

Breast clinic - only scanning on Wed's and having to travel to Shrewsbury on public transport (3 buses taking 2 hrs) with a 2 year old and a 8 week old is disappointing, although staff and service are fab!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience of Ward 18 and your difficulties in travelling to the breast clinic. When we plan our services we try hard to balance the need for providing expert specialist care (sometimes the specialist staff or equipment needed for a service means that we may only be able to provide it from one specialist location) versus the aspiration to provide services as locally as possible. You may want to share your hopes and expectations as part of the big debate taking place across the county led by our GP commissioners. You can find out more and make your views known at http://www.telfordccg.nhs.uk/call-to-action (the questionnaire closes on 4 November 2013).
