"Cardiology is disgraceful"

I am utterly appalled by the care my father has received and by the sounds of other reviews on here others are equally upset by the care received by cardiology. I don't know where to start. They have cancelled numerous appointments and literally last minute about half an hour before leaving for hospital. When he went for an angiogram they put the wrong wrist band on him, it was for another patient! I had to point this out to them and it was not red. My Dad is allergic to various medication so a red band should be put on him. This is a serious breach and they just fobbed me off. I also noted a number of other breaches in infection control procedures whilst I was there. You do not lift a pedal operated bin with you hand! They also sent my Dad a letter telling him an appointment had been booked for a procedure (a specialist pacemaker to be fitted) and he had no appointment with anyone to explain why and what was going to happen. I have already tried to complain last year and my email was ignored. I know it was delivered as I had a delivery receipt on it. I fully understand that the NHS is stretched as I work for the NHS myself but there is serious issues with the Cardiology department. They are obviously not managing demand at the moment and I would suggest this service urgently needs a review. I intend to complain again on my Dads behalf and if I am ignored again I will take it further.
