"Kings College: Breach of confidentiality, security breach"

About: King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

Kings College hospital accessed a Private medical report ie a report I paid for privately with a consultant working in his private capacity, not his NHS capacity, and without my knowledge or consent, distributed my private report - over which the NHS has no ownership - to my nhs GP and another NHS consultant

This report contains sensitive information that I do not wish to share with my NHS GP. Indeed a year ago I went to great pains to provide her with a redacted version.

It is of great concern that an institution that should be fully versed in its statutory obligations around information handling, in my view has breached every rule in the book.

I have made a formal complaint and expect Kings to make every effort to pull back the information, but the inconvenience is immense as I will now have to inspect my records held with various hospitals and gp to ensure the information is deleted.

I funded this private report at great expense due to nhs failures, so it is galling that they now have this information free of charge - without my consent!
