About: The Royal London Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked:

Royal London Hospital use to be a good hospital until the new changes and recruitment of inexperienced staff. Compared to Barts Hospital, I would say Bart's provides a better service, their staff and consultants, doctors are always at hand to help you with any query you may have. The nurses who run the A&E have no sense of patient care including making sure patients are informed at all times during their wait/stay. SHO's/Registrars/Nurses seem to lack co-ordination and trainee doctors look bewildered. With the new merging of services of Barts and RLH in one place will be one major catastrophy. combining the best and the worst under one roof, even as an Optimist, I do not see the level of customer care service improving in the near future especially A&E, it just seems to get worser by the day.

What could be improved? Training of existing staff at RLH in particular all nurses undergoing a patient care service improvement course, better training for new recruits including routine inspections of the service by Trust Members, Provision of more beds and the removal of reclining chairs on CDU ward. Better facilities for mothers including maintaining a satisfactory level of hygeine (Toilets at RLH are extreamly unhygenic and many are out of use). Doctors should be accountable to certain service level targets, including new trainee doctors. Recruitment of better hospital co-ordinators/administrators who possess high level of customer service with a clear understanding of corporate customer care policies. Routine service level improvement monitoring inspections.
